A Pi Zete Spends his Summer in Pearl River

Nick Keefe has been interning at IHQ in Pearl River this summer. We finally caught up to him to see what he's been working on: Right now, I have a few projects that I'm currently working on. One is the creation of a binder for active Phis to use that will cover major topics that all chapters should be aware of. It will include topics such as recruitment, pledging, philanthropy, risk management, ritual, how to budget, and a few others. We should have it ready for convention this year. By creating this, we hope to make the transition for new Phis less daunting, and thus they will become more efficient and effective leaders. Our goal is for this binder is to get passed from current Phis to the next one and so on. I've also been working on the database and convention planning. I'll be attending convention for free so that will enable another Pi Brother to go for less money.

Thanks for the news Nick. We're all very proud of you and hope you bring a lot of good stuff back to Troy!

Convention Was A Blast!!

The Convention was awesome! As you may have saw, we were posting pictures throughout the event from our "Magic Phones" (as Tricky Rick calls them). Colton Anderson '12, Arthur Chen '12, and Joe Novek '12 arrived Wednesday afternoon to represent the Active chapter. Nolan Ceuch '12 and Justin Persin '12 arrived later and enjoyed two great nights in the Big Apple (and Jersey City). John Spohn '81, Rick Kasold '71, Michael Bruce '08, Russell Herman '06, and James Patrick Devlin '08 all made appearances on behalf of the Elders. We hope all of the Actives and Elders got a lot out of the LTIs, forums, and networking opportunities.

Of course, Lauck Walton '84, the Phi Alpha, attended the entire Convention with his family. Brother Walton was lucky enough to preside over one of the more contentious Grand Chapter Meetings in recent history. The Pi Zete delegation felt railroaded by some decisions made by IHQ and made their displeasure known at the meeting. Do not fret though, we will work out our issues in a civilized manner!

Rumor has it that the Pi Chapter has the Torch of Zeta Psi. No Pi Zete has confirmed this.

Greetings from New Orleans!

Long time no post. The dog days of summer are almost behind us, and the school year is within sight. This transition is always signaled by the annual Zeta Psi International Convention, held this year at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The convention kicked off yesterday afternoon. The Pi Chapter sent four active delegates, as well as six elder delegates to the convention. We're sure to bring home many useful tools about chapter management, stories of Tricky Rick's incredible beer-drinking capacity, and others.

Stay tuned!
